Now, I could simply drop my films at any highstreet lab, but I consider myself a bit of an anorak when it comes to handling photographic film - which is why I prefer developing it myself. I don't always have commercial developer around, so I do what many others have done before me, I stick my films in coffee. It's safe to handle, environmentally sound (as long as you ignore the issue of no alternative fix being available) and will get you some beautiful negatives - simply by using a few things found in every kitchen. Besides, there's not much that compares to a decent negative being printed on fibre-based silver gelatin. The results of my personal attempts at utilizing Caffenol can be seen on this website. Keep coming back for frequent updates.
